A family is executed with only the very young son managing to escape.While heading home after the town's Fourth of July celebration Criminal Psychologist Olivia Rockwell and her sister Emily come across the first body on the side of the road in a burning car.. Homicide Detective Will Decker gets the case and while at that scene they get a call that the vacation house the victim's wife and kids are at is also on fire.Will and Olivia make a great team professionally and their slow burn romance is still moving at a snails pace but does move ahead. Will comes up with plenty of suspects but when weird things keep happening he is wondering if an old enemy isnt back.The author did a fabulous job of intertwining a new main plot with a sub plot from the previous books. One crossover sub plot is put the rest but there are still plenty open.
